For love, of course! I’m a total romantic (and not the hopeless kind). Just ask anyone who knows me! And I mean, come on. “How I Met Your Mother” is one of my favorite shows. I once dabbled in landscape, food, and fashion photography, but I quickly learned that wedding photography was my jam. I love it because it’s a mix of documentary, candid, and portrait photography. The best part is that I get to be involved in 20 new love stories every year.
On paper, I’d made it. I had job security and worked with people I loved. Still, something didn’t feel right. I had dreams of exploring the world. I wanted to live on my own terms. I had to follow my gut, so I saved $3,000, packed my bags, and moved to Seattle. Even though I barely had any money, I still knew in my heart that I had to leave that 9-5 life. And then it finally happened. A couple booked me for their wedding! Within nine months, I’d booked 30 weddings in Seattle. The rest, as they say, is history.
“I HAD JUST BEEN OFFERED A GREAT 9-5 JOB AT A TIME WHEN I NEEDED IT, BUT I COULDN'T SHAKE THE UNSETTLING FEELING THAT IF I SAID YES, I’D BE GIVING UP ON MY DREAMS.”
HOW it happened
The most rewarding feeling is the life I built today! This wasn’t always the case, I struggled for years with an overwhelming workload that didn’t allow me to breathe life into me. At 26, I took a deep look and changed my whole process. Now I hired a team of people to help me with the daily task so that I can reserve my energy for my clients, friends and that sweet person in my life!
