Chuck and I met at a singles dance. We had a great time dancing to The Tropics! The Moon was so gorgeous that night – a Full Moon! A Full Moon often holds a magical significance: emotions can run high but there is often clarity in whatever it is that is happening at the time. So, now, that phase of the moon is always very special for us. It’s always a luminous reminder of the night we met. This was June 8th of 2009. For the both of us, it seemed very clear that we had met someone very special. However, I left the next day for a planned vacation and I was out of town for a month. We reconnected during the 4th of July weekend. It still felt very special so our relationship began at that point. We dated for 2 months, broke up for 2 months. When we got back together in November, we absolutely knew that we loved each other very much and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Chuck proposed on his birthday – February 8th of 2011. IT WAS a surprise! Who else would propose on their birthday and hide the box with the ring amongst his gifts?? LOL! Seriously, we feel very blessed to have found the kind of love and devotion that is at the heart of our relationship.
The wedding was such a whirlwind of emotions and happiness; being in love and feeling the love from everyone! I remember thinking it couldn’t be more perfect! Our children and many members of our families were there to help us celebrate, as well as, our friends. Everyone seemed to be in a party mood and told us they were having a good time! We received so many compliments on the décor, the venue, the food, the cake, the pianist, and the ease with which everything was orchestrated. The ceremony was significant with its meaningfully written and personalized wedding vows! I loved the added humor and personal stories in the ceremony. It made for a very relaxed atmosphere. The absolute favorite part of the reception was having The Tropics play for us! They are the band we danced to the night we met! As always, they played songs that everyone loves to dance to and I think EVERYONE danced! Our vision was to have it be an elegant party without the formality of a wedding. It was! Everyone involved in creating our special day hit it out of the park for us!
Special thanks to everyone that worked hard on Claire + Chuck’s wedding day!
